Performing a simple Google search for the term “pets” brings up a page with probably one of the most diverse mixes of site links you could ever find. There are links to Wal-Mart Pets, the Humane Society of the U.S., Ready.gov which is a resource to prepare pets for emergencies, as well as other training, retail, and wikipedia entries.
But the one that jumps out, simply because of the Stumbleupon feature in Google search results indicating the number of “stumbles” and user reviews of a particular site, is Petfinder.com. If you are logged into stumbleupon and conduct a Google search (many other sites have this feature as well), you will get quick access to reviews by other stumbleupon users. From the search page I can go directly to the 81 user reviews at this time and read about how great a site and service they are providing at Petfinder.com
From there I can tell that this is a site that is worth visiting .. and click over to the site. So, it may be one more click than you are used to, but you are also getting information from other web site users that you can find what you want .. unlike just blindly following the search results links.
So when you do get to Petfinder.com check out the information about the more than 12 million pet adoptions they have completed since 1995.
